NFPA is looking to add a Business Process Analyst to the Operations team!
Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Business Process Analyst to join our team. The primary focus of this role will be to document, analyze, and improve existing business processes to enhance the NFPA customer and coworker experience through operational effectiveness. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, a solid understanding of business operations, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify areas for improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
Process Documentation:
- Document and map current business processes, workflows, and systems using various tools (e.g., flowcharts, process maps).
- Develop detailed process documentation, including inputs, outputs, roles, responsibilities, and systems used.
- Process Analysis:
- Conduct thorough analysis of existing processes to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and areas for improvement.
- Analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to assess the effectiveness of processes.
- Collaborate with business units to gather requirements and understand current pain points or process gaps.
- Process Improvement:
- Develop recommendations for process improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve overall business performance.
- Implement process changes in coordination with stakeholders and monitor results to ensure improvements are effective.
- Work with IT and development teams to suggest automation opportunities where appropriate.
- Stakeholder Collaboration:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, finance, HR, IT, and others to ensure alignment on process improvement initiatives.
- Lead workshops and meetings to discuss process improvements and ensure understanding of proposed changes.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement by identifying ongoing opportunities for process enhancements.
- Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and new technologies that may enhance business processes.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in business process analysis, process improvement, or a related role.
- Proficiency in process mapping tools such as Visio, Lucidchart, Miro, or similar.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret data and provide actionable insights.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Experience with Six Sigma, Lean methodologies, or similar process improvement frameworks.
- Knowledge of business operations, systems, and workflows across various departments.
- Certification in process improvement methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma, BPMN) is highly desirable.

Salary ranges at NFPA are set by role and level, based on current competitive market data. Final compensation is determined by a combination of factors, including the specific skills, relevant experience, education, and training you bring to the role, as well as internal equity and business needs. For candidates whose qualifications align well with the role's requirements and expectations, offers are often made toward the minimum of the posted range. Exceptional qualifications or unique circumstances may result in placement higher in the range. Salary Range: $58,226 - $95,977
