Company History
Few organizations have been around as long as we have. Since our founding in 1781 during the Revolutionary War, the Massachusetts Medical Society (MMS) has enjoyed a prestigious history at the forefront of medicine. Our charter states that our mission is to "advance medical knowledge, [and] to develop and maintain the highest professional and ethical standards of medical practice and health care."
Today, we continue to lead the way in medical science and practice. We are one of the nation's oldest state professional membership association for physicians. We are also a leading medical publisher of The New England Journal of Medicine and a variety of publications for health care professionals, including AIDS Clinical Care, and the Journal Watch family of newsletters.
