Company Overview
The Southwest Florida Water Management is a regional governmental authority established by the Florida legislature to manage, regulate, and conserve the water resources within its district boundaries. The District is one of five regional water management districts, which covers an area of approximately 10,000 square miles and includes all or part of sixteen counties.
The mission of the Southwest Florida Water Management District is to manage water and related natural resources to ensure their continued availability while maximizing environmental, economic and recreational benefits. Central to the mission is maintaining the balance between the water need of current and future users while protecting and maintaining water and related natural resources which provide the District with its existing and future water supply. The programs that the District administers include, but are not limited to, flood protection, water use, well construction and environmental resource permitting, water conservation, education, land acquisitions, water resource and supply development and supportive data collection and analysis efforts.
